Heeeeere's Gavin!

First things first, Gavin was born on the 5th of March 2008. He was quite the little tank coming in at 9lbs 10oz and was 21.5 inches (not at all representative of being a Green!) He is also progressing rapidly (not biased at all... I am speaking from a completely objective viewpoint) pulling himself up, trying in earnest to hold his head up, and I think we are starting to see the beginnings of scooting. He's a vocal little bugger, he is constantly chattering, singing, or just plain talking back.

Anyway, both mom and Gavin are doing great, they enjoy playing in Gavin's aquarium playset and singing Johnny Cash (Ring of Fire). Gavin seems to have quite the appreciation for music. His tastes are rather eclectic ranging from country to punk to classical.

Melissa started back to work this week and I think she was pretty apprehensive to leave her boy with anyone. However, things have worked out well. It's funny to see how Melissa and my priorities have changed since Gavin came into our lives. Before it was always trying to squeeze one more experiment in or call just one more manager before heading out; now we can't get out of there fast enough to go pick up the boy.

If you can't tell, we are both a bit enamored with our little man. We would like to express our most sincere gratitude to all of our friends and families who have made this adventure into parenthood much smoother than it would have been otherwise. Thank you all for your inquiries as to how Gavin is getting along and please check the blog site periodically for updates.
